Maria Jansdotter

She was born on the farm Jordstorp in Bro parish, Värmlands county, on October 18 1791. Her parents were the farmer Jan Andersson and his wife Britta Jansdotter.

In the year 1814 she moved to Eds parish, Värmlands county, where she started working as a maidservant on the farm Ekholmen. Here she also met the farmhand Anders Larsson, who later was to become her husband.

Maria and Anders married in the church in Eds parish on november 15 1818. After the wedding they stayed on Ekholmen until 1821

In 1821 the family moved and lived for a short period on the croft Humleviken or Fintorp under Rå and Rörs farm and the same year they moved on to Niklasdal in the same parish. The following year they moved on to the farm Klammen in the same parish.

In 1829 they moved back to Niklasdal and six years later, in 1836, they moved to the farm Göpefjell. Two years later to the farm Ekholmen, both in Eds parish.

During the 1840's they moved to the croft Västra Långviken under Ekholmen. There her husband became his own crofter.

After her husbands death in 1867, she stayed at croft Västra Långviken. The only child still living at home was the deaf and dumb son Lars. Maria died on November 5 1868, 77 years old.
