Greta Olofsdotter

She was born on August 18 in the year of 1735 at Prästgården in Alsters parish, Värmlands county. Her parents were the farmer Olof Jonsson Nectersten and his wife Maria Eliedotter. According to the churchbooks she was baptised to Margareta, but called Greta.

At an age of 21 she married the seven years older farmhand Lars Jansson Landborg from Bredsjöhöjden, Grythyttans parish, Örebro county. After the publication of the banns on September 19 and 26, and October 3, they married in the chrurch in Alsters parish, on October 24. They were married by Olof Edberg. After the wedding Lars moved in with Greta at Prästgården.

Her marriage to Lars lasted only 5 months as Lars on April 28 1757 died, only 28 years old. At that time she was pregnant with their firstborn child, who was born on August 16 and was named Lars, most likely after his father. Their son Lars died, at an age of five, on March 14 1762.

In the year of 1758 she married for the second time. This time to the farmhand Pär Pärsson from Gunnarskogs socken, Värmlands provnice. After the publication of the banns on September 24 and October 1 and 8, they married in the chrurch in Alsters parish, on October 15. As a weddinggift she got 30 lod of silver. After the wedding he moved in with Greta at Prästgården.

Greta and Pär had three children. In the year of 1761 they moved to another of the many farms at Prästgården. According to the churchbooks, Pär died in 1763, and Greta became a widdow for the second time.

On May 1 in 1767 she married for the third time. She was now 32 years old. This time she married the carpenter Jonas Nilsson Fogelberg from one of the other farms in Prästgården. They were married at home in Prästgården by Joh. Vigelius. The following years she had her fifth and sixth child. Not even that marriage lasted very long, as Jonas died on December 7 1770, only 33 years old. Greta and Jonas had at that time been married for about 3 years. She now became a widdow for the third time.

The following year, on December 28 1771, she married for the fourth time, now to the farmhand Jonas Olofsson from Bjurerud in the same parish. They were married at home in Prästgården by Ch. Edberg after the publication of the banns on November 24 and December 1 and 8. As a weddinggift she got 60 lod of silver. Jonas moved in with Greta at Prästgården and here they came to live for the following two years. They had two children.

In the year 1773 she moved with the family to Jonas fathers home at Bjurerud in the same parish. Here were they to live for the following 13 years. In the year of 1786 she became a widdow for the fourth time as Jonas died on July 5. At that time Greta was 51 years old. Two years later the farm was taken over by her daughter Cajsa and her husband Anders Nilsson .

In 1802 she moved to her daughter Lisa Pärsdotter and her family at Skrymterud also in Alsters parish. Lisa was married to the farmer Petter Jonasson. At her daughter Lisa's home she stayed until she died, on June 5 1808. She was at her death 73 years old, had married four times and had eight children. She died from "ageweakness".
